Wake Forest Summer Photo Shoot
My time has been very busy, but I took this weekend off to relax a little and catch up on many things that I have wanted to do. Taking some pictures was on my "to do" list. Since the summer is almost over, I knew that I needed to take some pictures before the fall leaves arrived. Along with Karen, Kimberly and my mother, we all took a walk down Wake Forest main street and through the park.

Changing Perspectives
This past summer has been a hard one for me. My life seems to have taken a winding path
that is rapidly becoming harder to travel upon.
In many areas I am having to readjust my focus. And my perspective on things is in need of
some change so that I can achieve new goals, which isn’t easy for me because I
am a person that struggles with change.

Story of the Day
My summer has so far been absolutely wild, but in a fun
way I suppose. By far, the thing that I have
enjoyed most during the season has been my American Sign Language (ASL). When I first met Miss Cindy, my ASL teacher,
she introduced me to the fascinating world of deaf culture. Before I began
taking ASL, I didn’t realize that the deaf community was the most unreached
people group in the entire world.
Because they can’t hear or speak, deaf people struggle to live alongside
the rest of society.

Writing Quirks
When I write something, I pour myself a mug of coffee, sit
at my desk, and write one-liners until I come up with something that I feel is
golden. While I write, I wonder if other
authors ever practice such a strange approach to writing. It certainty works for me. That is why I write one-liners so
often. Call it a quirk, if you like!

Tutorial: Floppy Flower Ring In Purple
Today I felt like putting together a tutorial with bead-weaving techniques that are a little more challenging. I've made the Floppy Flower before, but this time I wanted to use colors that gave the ring an overall more lacy feel. I love how it turned out! Below is the list of materials that I used.

My Bridge to the World
My bedroom window overlooks the front lawn of my house. Gently pulling the curtains aside, my eyes
watch all that occurs in the street below.
I love my windows more than the pictures and paintings that adorn my
room’s walls.
Natural, beautiful lighting shines through the glass every
morning, awakening to a bright new day.
As the hours trickle by, the sun passes over the house, and evening
approaches. During these hot hours of
the day, I leave the curtains shut, in order to keep cool air from escaping the
house. When the heat wave finally does
pass, I instantly pull the curtains back and watch the magnificent formation of
clouds. These clouds only exist in the
evening and they disappear gradually as night falls. When darkness sweeps over the land, I lean
back in my desk chair and watch as the stars twinkle in the night sky.
I’ve conveniently placed my desk in front of my windows, in order to drink in, and watch the beauty of the great blue sky. It relaxes me to sit, writing at my desk, while in the corner of my eye watches the trees wave gently in the breeze.
I feel as if my windows are a bridge between me and the
outside world. Not a puppy, or child, or
leaf goes by with me quietly acknowledging its existence with a smile. What a
nice feeling that is! :)
