Annie's Latest Poem

For several years now, my sister Annie has been developing her own style of poetry.  Many of her poems are very humorous and written in lyric form.  Occasionally, I will post one of her poems.  This one is very inspiring.

I eat in charming coffee shops

I sleep in subway stations

I spend my day in shopping malls

To plan our long vacations.

My favorite books are dusty

‘Cause I love the pungent smell

Clairvoyance of ageless novels

Is where my thoughts shall dwell.

I love November mornings

‘Cause they’re awful chilly

I take pleasure in answering phone calls

Although it’s rather silly.

I doze off to the sound of raindrops

I awake to the sound of static

My favorite food is coco beans

Although it’s rather erratic.

My favorite color is a rainbow

‘Cause there’s just too many to choose

But I can’t paint with all the colors

‘Cause there’s just too many hues.

I eat in charming coffee shops

I sleep in subway stations

I spend my nights on crowded streets

To escape my isolation.
