This piece was created for a friend of mine. It took me a couple of days to create, which involved shopping for hematite pieces, putting together the design, and the process of actually making the lanyard. Hematite, however beautiful, is a heavy bead, so it took me a couple of tries to create a finished product that didn't drag weight.
These are the materials used in the project: both large and small spacer beads, red crystals, grey and black Japanese seed beads and a selection of large and small hematite beads.
I used two strands, instead of one, of beading cord in order to make the lanyard more sturdy.
Personally, I think that the red crystal beads show off the round hematite beads perfectly.
