Springtime Butterfly Earrings Tutorial

These earrings are my way of expressing how much I long for spring to come.  Follow the instructions carefully and ask me if you've got any questions.  Enjoy the project!

Materials Needed:
Size 12 Beading Needle
Nymo Beading Thread
2 Earring Hooks
2 Glass Butterfly Beads
Size 11 Seed Beads (Pink, Light Pink, and Green)
Scissors

Step 1: Pick up one pink seed bead and turn it into a stopper bead by going through it twice from the tail end.  Pick up five more pink beads.

Go back through the stopper bead from the tail end to create a tiny circle of beads.

Pull tight.

Pick up one light pink seed bead and go through the third bead of the circle (the bead exactly opposite of your stopper bead.)  Pull tight.

Step 2: Pick up three green seed beads.  Take an earring hook and thread your needle through it.  Pick up three more green seed beads and go back through the third bead of the daisy chain.  Pull the thread tight.

Step 3:  To create the short dangle, weave to the bottom of the daisy.  Your thread should now be exiting the stopper bead.  Pick up one green seed bead, one glass butterfly bead, six green seed beads, one teardrop bead, and then two more green seed beads.  Use the picture below for reference.

Go back through the third bead of the cluster of six beads to complete the dangle.  Weave your thread back up to the butterfly, up and around the daisy, and back down through the butterfly again so that you are exiting from out of the bottom of the butterfly.

Step 4:  To create the medium-sized dangle, pick up twelve green seed beads, one tear drop bead, and two more green beads.  Go back through the the ninth bead, of the cluster of twelve green beads, to complete the stem.  Weave your thread back up the stem, to the butterfly, and around the daisy chain, and back down through the butterfly again.

Step 5: Your thread should be coming out of the bottom of the butterfly.  To create the longest dangle, pick up two green seed beads and six pink seed beads.

Go back through the first of the six pink seed beads that you picked up and pull tight to create a circle.  Pick up one light pink seed bead and go through the third bead of the circle.  Pull tight.

Pick up fifteen green seed beads, one tear-drop bead, and back two more green beads. Go back through the twelfth bead of the fifteen beads that you picked up.

Step 6:  Tie off all your threads.
